Families in Stroud can step into a world of witches, winged monkeys and enchanted slippers when The Wonderful Wizard of Oz returns to Stratford Park next summer.
The open-air theatre production by IKP Productions will take place at the Museum in the Park, on Stratford Road, Stroud, on Saturday 8 August 2026. The performance is scheduled to run from 4pm to 6pm.
A family comedy adventure
The show follows Dorothy, the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel through the familiar Oz adventure. The production is described as a family comedy adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic book.
Audiences can expect physical humour, fast-paced multi-roling and plenty of laughs, with the story also featuring munchkins, witches, winged monkeys, enchanted slippers and the Wonderful Wizard himself. Organisers say the production is suitable for all ages and that audiences should “Expect the unexpected”.
Tickets and what to bring
Standard tickets cost £12 for adults and £10 for children and concessions. A family ticket costs £40 and admits four people, while an Early Bird ticket is available for £9.
As the performance is outdoors, visitors are advised to bring rugs or camping chairs. Clothing suitable for all weather conditions is also recommended.
The production is returning after what organisers describe as a sell-out success. Tickets can be booked online through the event listing for the Museum in the Park.
