A free exhibition exploring everyday life in Stroud’s parks is coming to the Museum in the Park this summer, with visitors able to see work by members of the Stroud Artists’ Cooperative.
Park Life will run from Saturday 1 August to Monday 31 August 2026 at the museum in Stratford Park, Stratford Road, Stroud. The exhibition is scheduled to open at 11am and close at 4.30pm.
Local artists and Stratford Park
The exhibition is the culmination of a year-long project examining and capturing aspects of life and activities in local parks, including the grounds of Stratford Park. It will feature work by artists connected with the cooperative, which was established in 2021.
The group’s first event was the outdoor Stroud Art Fair, which involved more than 40 artists. Since then, the cooperative has grown to 180 members and is run by volunteers.
Workshops and admission
Alongside the exhibition, the programme will include workshops, demonstrations and opportunities to meet the artists. The event listing says admission is free, although donations are welcome.
Works displayed in the exhibition will also be available to buy, giving visitors the opportunity to support local artists while viewing the project’s response to Stroud’s parks.
The exhibition will be held at the Museum in the Park, Stratford Park, Stratford Road, Stroud, Gloucestershire, GL5 4AF. The event is listed as an exhibition by the Stroud Artists’ Cooperative.
