Families in Stroud will be able to explore how objects move, spin, roll and float during a hands-on activity at the Museum in the Park this summer.
Things That Move will take place on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the museum in Stratford Park, Stratford Road, Stroud. The drop-in session will run from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
What children can do
The museum-inspired activity is designed for families with children aged over five to explore together, although younger children can also take part with support from adults.
Children will be able to make wheel prints using toy vehicles, investigate old-fashioned toys and games, and create a pull-along toy. The session will also include experiments to discover which objects float and sink.
Other activities will involve playing with turning gears, pushing trains around a toy train set, and making a dancing toy or a climbing toy designed to defy gravity.
Booking and cost
The activity is a drop-in event, so families can arrive at any point between 11.30am and 3.30pm. It costs £1 per child, payable on the day.
