Stroud Camera Club has celebrated a successful Open No 2 competition after returning judge Peter Weaver praised the standard of photographs entered across all categories.

Mr Weaver, chairman of Hanham Photographic Society, was welcomed back to judge the competition. He said the quality of the entries was particularly strong, adding that many photographs in the club’s B group would have competed in the main group at other clubs where he judges.

Members present also appreciated the judge’s gentle humour and consistent commentary during the event. The results included several new names as well as photographers who have previously featured among the club’s successful entrants.

Mandi Horwood took first place in Group A Digital with Cheetah Family. Annie Blick was runner-up with The City at Twilight, while Leslie Holmes placed third with Fox at Dusk.
