Italian ska-punk band Los Fastidios will return to Stroud next month for a gig at the Prince Albert in Rodborough, with all proceeds from the show going to Medical Aid for Palestinians.

The Verona-based five-piece will play the venue on November 9 as part of a visit promoting Lovesteady, their latest album. Tickets are priced at £15 and are available through Ticket Tailor. Doors open at 7pm.

Los Fastidios bring new line-up to Rodborough

Los Fastidios were formed in 1991 and are fronted by original singer Enrico. Elisa Dixan joined him on vocals in 2018, while Midio plays bass.

The Stroud show will also mark the local debuts of guitarist Gek and drummer Dexi. The pair joined the band in December last year, according to the band’s announcement.

“We can’t wait to be back at the Prince Albert. We love playing here, we love the energy of the crowd. It’s one of our favourite venues.”

Enrico made the comments after the group returned from touring Latin America. The band is described as Italian punk and 2Tone-influenced, with a sound combining classic Oi! and hardcore influences.

Album tackles anti-racism and social injustice

Lovesteady is Los Fastidios’ 13th album and contains 13 new street ska-punk songs. The material features singalong choruses, driving guitars and an outspoken lyrical approach.

Elisa Dixan said the songs address anti-racism, working-class solidarity, social injustice and everyday life. She also linked the album’s themes to the band’s view of the current wider world.

“Our songs tackle anti-racism, working-class solidarity, social injustice and everyday life. In a world where everything seems to be going wrong, today, more than ever, we need Lovesteady.”

The performance gives local fans the chance to hear the new record while supporting a humanitarian cause. The organisers said all proceeds from the Prince Albert event will be donated to Medical Aid for Palestinians.

Tickets for the November 9 show are on sale online for £15. The supplied event information does not state an end time or provide further details about support acts.
