A late-night summer party featuring disco, Afro-Latin music and vintage black sounds is coming to Stroud Valleys Artspace in John Street this September.
The Svaaaa Summer Party will take place at SVA, 4 John Street, Stroud, from 9pm on Saturday, September 5, 2026, until 1am on Sunday, September 6. The event is strictly for over-18s, and photo ID will be required.
Who is playing at the SVA party?
The line-up includes Tim Telling, Liam Large and the Joicey DJ Collective, featuring Sasha and Rosa Gillsmith, Izzy Martini and Moina Moin.
Tim Telling, associated with the Disco Sucks club night, is expected to bring a broad and unusual selection of records. The event listing describes a set moving through slow electronic and rock music, moody disco and Balearic sounds, with The Doors potentially featuring later in the night.
Liam Large is described as a crate-digger, compiler for Jazzman Records and founder of the Jukebox Jam label and club night. He has also run Tropical Yard, an East London club, for the past decade.
His set will focus on music played from original vinyl, with sounds drawn from across the Americas, the Caribbean, Africa and beyond. The listing says his selections span soul, funk, rhythm and blues, blues, jazz, reggae, hip hop, Latin and African music, among other styles.
Tickets and event details
Tickets are offered on a “pay what you can” basis, with prices of £6, £8 or £10 listed by the organisers. Tickets can be bought through the SVA event listing.
The party is scheduled to begin at 9pm and finish at 1am. Anyone attending will need to be aged 18 or over and bring photo identification.
