Taylor Swift fans in Stroud are being invited to step into their favourite era at Five Valleys this weekend, with a tribute event promising live music, singalongs and opportunities to meet the performer.
Called “Swiftie Saturday”, the event will take place on Saturday, September 5, between 11am and 1pm. It will be held in the sub-food hall area at Five Valleys, outside Vinnie’s Mac and Cheese and Simpsons Fish & Chips.
What is happening at Five Valleys?
The event will feature a Taylor Swift tribute artist and two live performances. Organisers say the format is designed to give fans “double the fun”, with visitors able to sing along to some of Swift’s best-loved hits and enjoy a shared celebration of the singer’s music.
The first performance is scheduled for 11am to 11:40am. That will be followed by a meet and greet from 11:40am to 11:50am.
A second performance will then run from 12pm to 12:40pm, followed by another meet and greet from 12:40pm to 12:50pm. The event is due to finish at 1pm.
Fans encouraged to dress for the occasion
Visitors are encouraged to dress up for the event, with sparkle, sequins and cowboy boots among the outfit ideas highlighted by Five Valleys. Fans can choose an outfit inspired by the Taylor Swift era they like best and are invited to bring friends along.
James Lund, assistant centre manager at Five Valleys, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming Swifties to Five Valleys for what promises to be a brilliant afternoon of music and fun.”
He added: “It’s a great chance for fans to get dressed up, step into their favourite era and enjoy some of Taylor Swift’s best-loved songs together.”
Mr Lund also said the centre hoped to see “plenty of creative outfits” and encouraged fans to gather their fellow Swifties for the event.
