Stratford Park Lido will stay open until 30 September, weather permitting, giving Stroud residents and visitors extra chances to swim at the open-air pool during the 2026 season.

The updated timetable follows the lido’s reopening in August after extensive repair work to address safety-critical issues. The spring-fed pool, which is nearly 90 years old, has returned to service for the remainder of the season.

New Stratford Park Lido swimming times

From Monday to Friday, the timetable includes lane swimming from 1.30pm to 2.25pm, public swimming from 2.30pm to 5.30pm and a further lane-swimming session from 5.45pm to 7pm.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, an additional early lane-swimming session runs from 7am to 9am. The afternoon and evening sessions remain the same.

Saturday opening times are lane swimming from 9.30am to 10.55am, public swimming from 11am to 2pm, public swimming again from 2.30pm to 5.30pm, and lane swimming from 5.45pm to 6.45pm.

On Sundays, lane swimming is available from 10am to 10.55am, followed by public swimming from 11am to 2pm and 2.30pm to 5.30pm. The final lane-swimming session runs from 5.45pm to 6.45pm.

Baby pool, café and shop remain available

The baby pool, along with the new on-site café and shop, will continue to open during public swimming sessions. The extended season is subject to suitable weather conditions.

Councillor Angela Gillingham, Stroud District Council’s Head of Community Services, said: “We’re delighted that the Lido will remain open until the end of September, giving residents and visitors extra opportunities to enjoy this much-loved community facility.”

She added: “Since reopening, it’s been wonderful to see people back in the water and making the most of everything the Lido has to offer.”

The council said it looks forward to welcoming swimmers throughout the extended season, weather permitting.

How to book a session

Swimmers can check the latest timetable and book through the Active Lifestyles website’s Stratford Park Lido page. Advance booking is recommended, although walk-in spaces are reserved for each session.
