A new artist residency will bring photographer and multidisciplinary artist Georgia Williams to Stroud Valleys Artspace (SVA) this August, where she will develop a new body of work exploring artistic discovery, self-understanding and the experience of being human.
The residency will take place at SVA, 4 John Street, Stroud, from Tuesday 18 August to Monday 24 August 2026. The event listing gives the scheduled start time as 2.30pm on 18 August and the end time as 3.30pm on 24 August.
A week of artistic development
Williams is a multidisciplinary artist-curator based in South West England. Her practice brings together photography, drawing, research and exhibitions, with a focus on finding new ways to examine perception and the human experience.
During the SVA residency, she will use the space to build on a new body of work titled Time on paper. The project marks a return to drawing after eight years of practising photography, using the medium as a form of direct and unfiltered expression.

The listing states that the residency will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 3pm during the 18-to-24 August period. Visitors can find the project at SVA on John Street in Stroud.
Williams describes drawing as both an act of becoming and a study of female experience. Her wider work is driven by curiosity and enquiry, and seeks to look closely at how people understand themselves intellectually, physically and spiritually.
