Woodcock Lane Dental Care in Stonehouse is celebrating its 40th anniversary while beginning a new chapter under the ownership of Tara Conway, who is now the practice’s Principal Dentist.
The practice was founded in 1986 by Dr Robert Salvin and has spent four decades providing dental care to patients and families in the local community. During that time, it has grown and developed while maintaining a focus on friendly, professional and patient-centred care.
A change in ownership after decades of continuity
David Lyons has played a significant role in Woodcock Lane Dental Care’s history. He joined the practice in 1990 and later became its Principal Dentist and owner.
Ownership passed from David to Tara in March 2026. David continues to work at the practice, providing continuity for the team and patients as the business moves into its next phase.
Tara joined Woodcock Lane three years before taking over ownership. The practice says her aim is to build on its established reputation while continuing to develop its services for existing patients and future generations.
“Our practice’s aim is to combine the experience and relationships built over four decades with modern treatment options and the expectations of today’s patients.”
The practice says its longstanding history, experienced team and personal approach remain central to its identity. At the same time, it is continuing to develop modern dental treatments and technology as patient expectations change.
Modern treatments and preventative care
Woodcock Lane Dental Care now offers a range of modern treatments, including Invisalign®, dental implants, sedation and cosmetic dentistry.
Those services are provided alongside general, preventative and family dental care. The practice’s approach therefore combines treatment options aimed at specific dental needs with routine care intended to support patients’ longer-term oral health.
Tara’s clinical interests include complex restorative dentistry, tooth wear and dentures. She lives locally with her husband, Rob, and their two children.
The practice says it is proud of the relationships built with patients over the past 40 years. That history remains an important part of the practice as it looks ahead under new ownership.
Its focus also remains on preventative dentistry and helping patients maintain their natural teeth and oral health. The practice describes this continuing emphasis, together with its experienced team and personal approach, as central to the service it provides to the Stonehouse community.
Looking ahead in Stonehouse
Tara’s ownership marks the beginning of the next chapter for Woodcock Lane Dental Care as it reaches four decades of local service.
The anniversary recognises the practice’s origins under Dr Robert Salvin, David Lyons’s long association since joining in 1990, and its plans to combine established patient relationships with newer treatment options. David’s continued work at the practice also means the ownership change is taking place alongside an ongoing connection with its previous owner.
For patients, the practice says the combination of general, family and preventative dentistry with treatments such as Invisalign®, implants, sedation and cosmetic dentistry will remain part of its offer as it develops in the years ahead.
