Families looking for big-screen entertainment during the October half-term can find a packed programme at Vue Stroud from Friday, 23 October, with two new animated adventures, Halloween comedy and returning favourites.
The cinema’s line-up includes Monster Mia and Wildwood, alongside Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom. Vue is also promoting lower-priced screenings and relaxed sessions aimed at younger children.
Two new animated adventures arrive on 23 October
Monster Mia follows a 12-year-old girl and her pet rat after they arrive at the mysterious Rotwood Academy. Mia discovers that she is the only human at a school populated by monsters and must hide her identity while becoming involved in an adventure that could put humans everywhere in danger.
The film is based on a bestselling novel and has been made by the studio behind Coraline.
Also arriving on Friday, 23 October is Wildwood. It follows Prue, a young girl who enters a mysterious hidden forest to rescue her younger brother. The story takes her into a world of strange creatures, rival factions and secrets as she tries to bring him home.
Halloween fun and a £2.49 family film
Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom continues the Halloween theme during the school holidays. After the Farmer accidentally destroys the Flock’s prized pumpkin patch, Shaun becomes a self-styled mad scientist in an attempt to put things right.
His plan goes badly wrong. The Farmer disappears and a mysterious beast begins roaming the woods of Mossingham, creating a family adventure built around Halloween mischief.
Families can also watch PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie for £2.49 when tickets are booked online through Vue’s Mighty Mornings, which are running throughout the school holidays. In the film, the heroic pups crash-land on a tropical island inhabited by dinosaurs.
The story sees Ryder and the pups respond to a series of dinosaur-sized rescues after Mayor Humdinger’s latest scheme causes a dormant volcano to erupt. They must work to save the island and its prehistoric inhabitants.
Relaxed screenings for younger audiences
Vue’s Big Shorts series is being offered as a gentler introduction to cinema for younger viewers. The sessions use dimmed lighting and feature familiar characters on the big screen.
During this half-term, the series includes Disney Junior Cinema Club 2026, giving younger film fans the opportunity to watch Disney Junior entertainment together in the cinema.
Dean Cross, senior screen content manager at Vue UK & Ireland, said: “There’s nothing quite like getting together for a trip to the big screen during the school holidays, and this October half-term there’s a fantastic variety of family entertainment to enjoy at Vue.”
He added: “From brand-new adventures in Monster Mia and Wildwood to Shaun the Sheep’s Halloween mischief and the return of the PAW Patrol pups, families can experience some brilliant stories together on the big screen and make the most of their time off.”
