Tickets for the 2026 Stroud Book Festival go on sale at 10am tomorrow, with organisers warning local readers not to leave bookings too late after some events sold out extremely quickly last year.
The festival team says tickets for the November programme can be booked through the Stroud Book Festival website, online via thesubrooms.co.uk, by phone through the Sub Rooms Box Office or in person at the box office.
How to book Stroud Book Festival tickets
The Sub Rooms Box Office can be contacted on 01453 796880. Its stated opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, from 10am to 4pm.
A printed festival brochure is due to be available next week from the Sub Rooms, Stroud bookshops and other venues around town. However, the organisers say some individual events are being sold through other providers, so prospective attendees should check the booking information for each event before purchasing.
The full 2026 programme is already online. The festival says it will continue highlighting selected events in its newsletter and posting regular updates on social media for people looking for ideas.
Opening-night event announced
The opening-night event, Rewild Your Reading, is scheduled for Wednesday 4 November. It is being presented in collaboration with Read for Good and is intended to explore the value of reading deeply and widely during the National Year of Reading.
The event will bring together Robert Douglas Fairhurst, professor of English Literature at Oxford and author of Look Closer: How to Get More Out of Reading; author Ann Morgan, who has read at least one book from every nation on earth; and journalist Sarah Shaffi, literary editor at Red magazine.
Stroud Book Festival programme director Caroline Sanderson will join the three guests for a discussion aimed at broadening readers' literary horizons and offering new recommendations.
The festival says tickets for the event are available through its booking information. It is encouraging people to make their choices soon, particularly given the speed at which some events sold out during the previous year.
The 2026 festival is due to take place in Stroud in November. Organisers say they are looking forward to welcoming audiences and will provide further updates through the festival newsletter and social-media channels.
