Old Brewery Auctions is celebrating what it describes as its best-ever sale after a record turnout at its latest auction, attracting more participants than any previous event both in person and online.
The auction business is based in the former Wickwar Brewery building in South Gloucestershire and is run by friends and business partners Joseph Trinder and Harry Leach. Trinder is the auctioneer and managing director of Wotton Auction Rooms, while Leach is associated with Trashman Clearance and Trashman Treasures.
Strong demand in the room and online
The latest sale took place last Friday and drew strong interest from bidders attending at the venue as well as those taking part online. The auction team also reported a significant number of bids placed before the sale began.
The business has chosen to retain an intimate, traditional format, holding an in-person auction every fortnight despite the wider shift towards online sales. Its latest result marks a significant milestone for the team and the people who consign items, view lots, bid and buy through the auction house.
“On behalf of Joseph, Harry and our wonderful team, we’d like to thank each and every one of you who consigned, viewed, bid and bought – we wouldn’t be us without you, and we are proud to share this huge milestone with you.”
Old Brewery Auctions said it would share highlights from the record sale over the coming days, giving bidders and followers a closer look at some of the lots and results from the event.
Next auction date confirmed
Attention has now turned to the auction house’s next sale, scheduled for Friday, 23 October. People wishing to consign items for that auction can do so on Wednesday and Thursday, 14 and 15 October.
The announcement provides the next opportunity for sellers to submit items and for buyers to take part in the auction’s established combination of in-person and online bidding. Further details and highlights are expected to be released by Old Brewery Auctions in the days following the latest sale.
