A family-run computer shop serving customers around Stroud has reached its 18th year in business, with the father-and-son team behind Nailsworth Computer Shop continuing to lead the company into its 19th year.
Paddy and Adam Coyle are at the heart of the business, which was established in 2008 and has built what it describes as a loyal customer base. Adam is the shop manager, while Paddy reflected on the business’s development as the anniversary was marked.
Computers, repairs and free parking
Nailsworth Computer Shop supplies brand-new and renewed laptops and PCs, alongside repairs for Apple and Microsoft systems. The shop stocks a large range of computers that are ready to go, and promotes competitive prices with no recurring fees.
The business is based on the A46 outside Stroud and offers free parking, giving customers a local option for buying equipment or seeking help with existing computers.
Paddy said he had first decided to open a computer shop in town before launching the business on September 1, 2008. He also thanked customers, his son Adam and his wife for their support during the company’s journey.
“I had this idea to open a computer shop in town. And on September 1, 2008, I did. Your support for both Adam, my son and shop manager, and myself over the years has been truly amazing.”
Business roots stretch back to 1995
Paddy’s experience in the computer trade predates the Nailsworth shop by more than a decade. He recalled making his first computer sale in 1995, when he sold a Windows 3.11 system with 640KB of RAM to Bill Bruton of Brutons Home Hardware.
“I sold my first one to Bill Bruton of Brutons Home Hardware — a Windows 3.11 system with 640KB of RAM.”
Over almost two decades, the shop has become a familiar part of the town. Paddy said the business had also created lasting friendships and again expressed his appreciation for the people who had supported it.
“We have made some amazing friends over the years, and we truly value your support for us. Thank you to Adam and to my wife who have supported me on the whole journey.”
With Adam continuing as shop manager and both men still running the company, Nailsworth Computer Shop now enters its 19th year serving customers from its A46 base.
