A Forest Green shop is marking 25 years in business, with owners Bob and Suki Samra reflecting on the customers, friendships and family milestones that have shaped Lawnside Stores.
The anniversary recognises a quarter of a century serving the community. During that time, the store has become more than a place to buy everyday goods, as the Samras’ own children grew up there and generations of customers continued to pass through its doors.
A shop woven into family life
Bob and Suki said they had watched local families grow over the years. Children who once visited the shop later became adults, started families of their own and returned with the next generation.
The couple also remembered the many people who have been part of Lawnside Stores’ story. Some customers have sadly died, others have moved away, while familiar faces continue to be part of the shop’s daily life.
That long connection with customers has helped make the store a recognisable part of Forest Green. The anniversary is therefore both a business milestone and a celebration of the relationships built during 25 years of trading.
Owners thank Forest Green customers
Reflecting on the milestone, Bob and Suki said the community spirit around the shop was something they had always treasured.
“So, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for welcoming us into the community 25 years ago, for supporting us, for stopping for a chat, for sharing your stories, and for continuing to grow alongside us.”
They described the anniversary as 25 years of memories, friendships, familiar faces and hard work, and paid tribute to everyone who had contributed to the store’s journey.
“25 years of memories, friendships, familiar faces and a whole lot of hard work. Here’s to 25 years… and to everyone who has been part of our journey.”
Lawnside Stores’ anniversary highlights the continuing role the shop plays in everyday life in Forest Green, as well as the lasting ties between the business and the families it has served.
