A late-night club night promising five hours of heavyweight bass, dancehall and global underground sounds is returning to Stroud this summer. BAG A TINGS will take over Stroud Valleys Artspace (SVA) on Friday 31 July 2026, running from 8pm until 1am the following morning.

The event will be held at SVA, 4 John Street, Stroud, GL5 2HA. It is strictly for people aged 18 and over.

A tropical bass night built for the dancefloor

Presented by local party organisers Ragga Shed and The Bass Bin, BAG A TINGS is billed as a full tropical bass takeover. The event combines Caribbean sound-system traditions with modern UK bass music, Latin club sounds and underground styles from across the world.

The advertised musical journey includes bashment, dancehall, UK garage, UK funky, Afrobeats, baile funk, reggaeton, kuduro, batida, grime, 140, tropical bass, Latin club sounds and bassline. The organisers describe the programme as a meeting point for reggae, rave and sound-system culture.

The event information says the music will be played through a powerful sound system intended to emphasise the physical impact of the bass, kick drums and rhythms. Its description highlights deep rolling sub-bass, dembow rhythms, Afro-diasporic percussion, UK garage swing and dancehall bounce.

Rather than a background-music setting, the night is being promoted as a dancefloor-focused club experience, with no VIP areas and an emphasis on crowd energy, movement and bass-heavy music.

MC Bo to host the night

The event will be hosted by MC Bo, also known as Bristol Bo. According to the event listing, he is a veteran of Bristol’s underground rave scene and has spent more than a decade hosting dancefloors across the South West.

His background is described as rooted in drum and bass and jungle culture, while his current work includes appearances across Bristol’s nightlife circuit and a residency with Kronic Bass. Organisers say attendees can expect live microphone work, crowd interaction and a high-energy rave atmosphere during the night.

Line-up spans Stroud, Gloucestershire and the wider South West

The line-up begins with Rinklee PA, described as a vinyl dancehall specialist selecting Caribbean classics, sound-system favourites and dancehall tracks from across the genre.

Jessie Riot will bring UK garage, speed garage and drum and bass selections. The listing presents Jessie Riot as a rising local selector known for bass-heavy sets and peak-time energy at events across the region.

Sauce, also known as Selector Sauce or Laurence Kapoor, is included as a key figure in Gloucestershire’s reggae, rave and sound-system scene. The event information identifies him as the founder of SoundHouse, Ragga Shed and Barrio Sounds, and credits him with supporting grassroots sessions through DJing, promotion and community-led events. It also links him with long-running sessions at Stroud Brewery.

His set is expected to draw on bashment, dancehall, UK garage, tropical bass and other global club sounds, reflecting the sound-system influences associated with his work.

The final listed performance is an extended two-hour back-to-back set from Queen V and LMSKN. Their session will explore Latin bass, baile funk, reggaeton, grime, 140, Afrobeats, batida, kuduro and other tropical club sounds.

The organisers say the back-to-back set will move between music from Angola, Brazil, the Caribbean and the UK, with the two selectors going tune-for-tune across a deliberately multi-genre programme.

For Stroud residents looking for a late-night event combining dancehall, UK garage, Afrobeats and international bass styles, BAG A TINGS is scheduled for Friday 31 July, from 8pm to 1am, at SVA on John Street. Entry is strictly 18-plus.
